What to expect
You’ll work within a small team to conduct high-impact research in machine learning interpretability, focusing on both fundamental advancements and practical applications.
You’ll both contribute to existing research projects and lead new ones, developing novel techniques to explain and understand state of the art AI systems. You’ll stay abreast of current work in AI and interpretability research, write clean, efficient code, publish academic papers, and present your work at international venues.
We’re based in London and San Francisco, and expect this role to be based in London. We operate a hybrid work policy, and typically work in person three days a week.
The Ideal Candidate
Has experience demonstrating their ability to:
- Undertake novel research: Guide core machine learning research.
- Explore uncharted territory: Pioneer novel ML techniques and approaches, venturing beyond existing methods.
- Think creatively: Address hard problems with elegant, innovative and effective approaches.
- Code with clarity and craft: Write efficient, organised code that's easy to read and maintain.
- Document research: Keep detailed logs of ideas, experiments, and results.
- Keep abreast of ML advances: Stay informed about contemporary AI models and pipelines.
- Communicate effectively: Collaborate closely with fellow researchers to ensure transparency and synchronicity; and present your research clearly to the outside world.
